Our Junior parkrun is up and running in Barshaw Park, every Sunday morning at 9.30am. It is a 2k run for juniors only (4-14 year olds).  Free to take part. Barshaw Gala Day – Volunteers required !

A week on Saturday, that’s the 23rd June, is Barshaw Gala Day. Friends of Barshaw Park will be there. We’ll have a stand and we will also be conducting a survey of park users. This will be a short questionnaire that will provide us with essential information, about how visitors use and perceive the park. The information will be a great help in applying for funding. 2018 AGM 9th April 2018

Friends of Barshaw Park AGM will be held on 9th April at 7 pm in the Rowantree Cafe in Barshaw Park. We would like to see as many of our supporters, and anyone else who cares about Barshaw Park, come along to the meeting. Walled Garden tidy dates

Thanks to everyone who came along yesterday 12th August, to take part in our Walled Garden Tidy. The dates of the next garden tidies are: Saturday 16th September Saturday 14th October Saturday 18th November. We were disappointed to see that  6 plants which we had put into one of the beds had been removed between last Sunday and Wednesday. They were just becoming established.  All new planting in the walled garden is donated by members of the public and Friends of Barshaw park and their supporters. Next phase of improvements commencing

The next stage of the investment in Barshaw Park is set to commence with the installation of new play equipment Works will start week commencing Monday 10 July  marking the second phase of improvement works. These works are part of a phased programme of infrastructure works. The works are likely to last approximately six weeks at Barshaw Parkdisruption to the public. Our AGM will be on 20 April 2015 in Rowantree Cafe at 7.30pm. All our friends are welcome.Please let us know if you plan to attend. We are currently looking for up to 5 committee members to join the present Board. Previous experience is NOT necessary, simply a desire to support our efforts to maintain and improve our park. If you have skills in fund raising, marketing, consultation or like gardening, organising fetes, or tidy ups then so much the better, but a willingness to support our efforts is the main criteria. The minimum time required is 2 hours per month.
